“Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them” (Ps. 139:16, NASB).

Careless Hand, an X-ray technician was called to do an X-ray on a patient that was being cared for by Meticulous Care, a Registered Nurse. During the process of taking the X-ray Careless Hand accidentally touched the sterile field that Meticulous Hand had created in order to do a dressing change. When Careless Hand ignored his mistake Meticul0us called him out. She informed him that he had broken protocol for maintain a sterile environment for the patient. Careless Hand looked at his assistant and remarked, “Man, she don’t miss nothing.” Meticulous Care was determined that protocol be followed because she was not just concerned about what had just taken place. She wanted everyone involved to be consciously aware of the risks and danger to the patient if a virulent pathogen was allowed to enter into the body of a patient.

In Psalm 139 the psalmist describes God as the God that misses nothing. God knows everything that is to be known about us. He knows our thoughts, our ways, and our words (Ps. 139:1-6). There is no place that we can go to get out of His sight (vv. 7-10). No place is too dark for Him to see (vv. 11-12). God has always known us. Before we were formed in the womb He knew what would be and what we would experience in life (vv. 13-17). The psalmist prays: “Search me O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” (Vv. 23-24, NASB).

God knows everything about us. God is not surprised when we do right of when we do wrong. God knows us thoroughly. He knows that we are sinners. God sent His Son to save us from our sins, and to teach us His ways so that we can enjoy the abundant life with Him forever.

Prayer: Lord, we are thankful that our God knows us thoroughly; You are God that misses nothing. Amen.
