Luke 12:49-53

‘“Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you no, but rather division”’ (Lk. 12:51, NASB).

When Jesus is born in Bethlehem angels announce His birth to shepherds at night as they watch over their sheep. The angels praise God saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased’” (Lk 2:14, NASB). We often find ourselves in conflict with others who do not believe in Jesus. It is difficult to accept that even among our family members there are unbelievers. It is frustrating to me when I am rejected by others; and especially family members because of my belief in Jesus. We cannot resolve the conflicts that result, but we can pray that those that we love will come to faith in Jesus. I must stand upon my convictions that Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior of the world to those that believe in Him. I cannot be surprised because Jesus tells us that the closest relationships are divided by Jesus.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray that your words will lead others to peace with you; especially my family members that do not yet believe in You. Amen
