Isaiah 55:6-9) I wanted to go from Nashville, Tennessee to Fort Wayne, Indiana. This was a long time ago; before the interstates. I get on US Highway 31E. As I am driving down the road I discover that I am on the wrong road. How can this be? Does not 31 take you north to Louisville, Kentucky and then to Fort Wayne? What is the problem? Then I see a sign that points the way to US Highway 31W. I am on the wrong road because I had not known that there is a 31W and a 31E. I must take a crossroad that connects 31E to 31W. Jesus Christ is US Highway 31W. He will get me to my destination. How can I get on the Jesus road? I must believe the gospel. The gospel will tell me the error of my ways. The gospel points me to Calvary’s cross where Jesus died. The cross connects me to Jesus. I cannot get on the Jesus road until I get off the road that I am travelling. I must accept Jesus’ death on the cross as God’s crossroad between the road that leads to death and the road that leads to life. Prayer: Lord God, we thank you for Jesus who died for our sins so that we can have a crossroad from the wrong road to Jesus Christ, the right road to eternal life. Amen.
