1 Peter 1:14-15

Christians are nonconformists. It is what the Lord calls us to be. This does not mean that we are free to do what we please regardless of what others think and feel. We are not free to look out for ourselves only. My freedom ends where your freedom begins. As Christians we do not conform to the ways of the world. We live in the world, but how we live is not determined by the world. We are called by the Lord to be conformed to the ways of God. We are to be holy because our God is holy. This means that we are different in our character and in our behavior. We must think differently. We have a heart filled with the love of God by means of His Spirit that lives in us.

The world sees us as strange and nonconformists because we do not share their point of view and their way of thinking about how the world should operate. Their way is their own. Our way is God’s way.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we thank you for coming into our lives, giving us your Spirit. May we be led by your Word and Spirit? We conform not to this world because we have been transformed by you. Amen.
