Luke 22:31-34 When I get up each morning I routinely go to my private place to pray. On most mornings my prayers follow a routine. I give thanks to God for all of His blessings. I ask God to bless those persons that are on my prayer list. However, there are times when I include prayers about persons and situations that are not a part of the daily routine. Is this just a habit? No. I pray each day because each day is different even though my daily activities are usually similar. So why do I pray for the same things each day? I start my day with prayer because I need to remind myself that God gives me each day. I pray because it I continue to have faith in God. Whether situations remain the same or if they change I have faith that God hears my prayers. I am reminded of a song with the following words: God never fails, God never fails. He abides with me, He gives me victory. Oh, God never fails. Just keep the faith, and never cease to pray. Just walk up right, morning, noonday and night. He’ll be there. He’ll be there. There’s no need to worry for God never fails. In the text Jesus prays that Peter will not lose his faith. He knows that Peter is about to be tested. Satan wants to take away all the good that is in him. Jesus prays that Peter’s faith will give him victory over temptation. Just keep the faith and the rest will follow.
