Read Revelation 22:10-21
“They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads” (Rev. 22:4, NASB).
John, who is exiled to the island of Patmos, (1:9) writes to seven churches to tell them to remain faithful to Jesus Christ. They are being persecuted at the hands of those who oppose the Gospel. Jesus is the Son of God. God is the creator of all things. Through John, Jesus points outs the strengths and weaknesses of seven churches in Asia Minor. Jesus knows their suffering, and He plans to return to end all suffering: “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away” (21:4).
We continue to be faithful to Jesus Christ in spite of circumstances because we trust in Jesus to keep His promise to give us a place in His Father’s kingdom (John 14:2-3). Jesus tells us that we cannot stop the evil that is in the world. We are to have faith in God as we struggle in a wicked world (Rev. 22:11). Jesus says to the church, “Behold I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done” (v. 12).
Thank you Jesus for you have promise to give us the gift of eternal salvation, which is life with you and the Father. Let your Holy Spirit be in us so that we will be able to stand in our faith as we face many difficult decisions in this life. Amen!
