2 Kings 5:1-5
God places His people in strategic places to witness to others His love and benevolence to all people regardless of their station in life. Most of us find it easy to talk about God as long as we are talking to other people who believe in God just as we do. We find it comfortable to discuss our feelings about the meaning of the biblical texts in the lives of our common belief in God and His Son Jesus Christ. The same cannot always be said when it is time to tell non believers who may be hostile towards God.
In our story an unnamed young girl is taken captive as a slave. She serves the wife of the Naaman who is captive of the army of the king of Aram. When this young girl discovers that her master is a leper she tells her mistress about the prophet in Samaria who can heal her master. This young lady is motivated more by what she knows that God can do for her master than her desire to be free and returned to her home. It is evident that her life circumstances do not diminish her faith in God. She is happy to share her faith in God, even with people who are the enemies of God.
Our Father in heaven, grant us a heart to tell others about your love and forgiveness through Jesus Christ to all who will listen. Let not our circumstances cause us to lose our faith and hope in you. Amen!
